About

My name is Carson Doherty

My name is Carson Doherty and I'm a doctoral occupational therapy student at the University of Michigan-Flint.

My interest in this population originates from both of my older sisters becoming new mothers within the last few years and each individually having their own unique experience during the postpartum period.

My oldest sister is also a part of the rare population of mothers who have a physical disability, requiring her own unique adaptations to motherhood as a role in her life. I've listened to both of my sisters speak about areas of motherhood that they were challenged by and how they are currently adapting to every new challenge day by day as their babies get older.

This website was developed as a final result for the University of Michigan-Flint's Doctoral Capstone Experience.
